Welcome to GIE Recycling

What we can do for you.

  1. Newspaper & Plain Paper
Gather clean newspapers, office paper, envelopes, and mail. Keep paper dry and free from food stains, grease, or excessive moisture. Remove plastic wrappers or non-paper inserts. Shredded paper is acceptable if bundled securely in a paper bag or box—never in plastic.
  2. Plastic-Coated Paper (Slick)
This includes magazine pages, catalog sheets, and glossy flyers. While these have a thin plastic layer, they are accepted here due to specialized processing. Do not include laminated paper or plastic report covers.
  3. Cardboard
Flatten all boxes to save space and make handling easier. Remove any plastic liners, packing materials, or excessive tape. Do not include cardboard that is heavily soiled with food or grease, such as greasy pizza boxes.
  4. Glass
Rinse glass bottles and jars to remove food residue. Keep glass items whole—never include broken glass for safety reasons. Remove metal or plastic lids before recycling. We accept all colors of glass: clear, green, and brown.
  5. Aluminum Cans
Rinse beverage cans completely to remove liquid and sugar residue. Leave the pull-tab on—crushed or uncrushed is acceptable, but do not bundle cans together with wire or plastic.
  6. Seasonal Donation Items (Now Through June)
We are now accepting gently used eyeglasses, cellphones, and shoes as part of our special recycling drive.

  • Eyeglasses: Clean and place in a protective case if possible. Any style or condition accepted—damaged frames can still be recycled.
  • Cellphones: Remove batteries if possible (if not, safe as-is). Reset devices to factory settings and remove SIM cards to protect privacy.
  • Shoes: All types accepted—athletic, casual, or work shoes. Must be clean and paired together with laces tied.
